HOW SHOULD I ROLL?

With your free hand hold the skin under slight tension.

Place the Skin roller for scars on the skin and roll with a constant movement to the end of the skin area. Roll horizontally, vertically and diagonal.

Lift the Dr.Roller slightly or change the angle of rolling and move back to the beginning. This ensures (more theoretically) that you will not hit the same prick channel. Start counting the roller-movements until the procedure becomes a routine

DOES THE Dr.roller DAMAGE THE SKIN?

NO!

Negative side-effects were never reported. Dermaroller penetrate the stratum corneum (top skin layer) , where tiny needles form infiltration channels for a very short while. The extreme slim needle-tips push the scales of the epidermis only aside, but they do not destroy them. The infiltration channels are closed in less than an hour. It's a fact that the sharp razor blades remove part of the stratum corneum but there are no reports that the thousands of years old procedure of ‘shaving' has any negative effect to the skin.

A clinical Study demonstrated by (Schwartz, 2006) 4) shows new collagen and elastin formation 6 weeks after “dry” micro needling. Dry meaning, “no substance was used or infused into the skin”. In this study, twenty blinded biopsies taken from 10 different patients from various parts of their body demonstrated an average increase in new fibers of 206%, one biopsy a 1000% increase was recorded.

This study also evaluated the penetration forces and needle length. Interestingly, after evaluation of all the biopsies, new collagen fibers were only found at the corium not deeper than 0.5mm to 0.6 mm.
