Pulsed laser for acne scars

by Caty

I did two sessions of pulsed laser with some improvement. This laser treatment is quite comfortable and no topical anesthetic is required. The skin is protected during the treatment with a cold cryogen spray which precedes each pulse of the laser. My skin for a couple of weeks seemed more relaxed but now the depth of the scars is still the same!
A plastic surgeon told me that I can obtain persistent results only with CO2 laser or dermabrasion, and both are very very aggressive ... dermabrasion need general anesthesia and I have a bit of fear...

Dermabrasion results
by: Nory

Hello I wanted to answer about the dermabrasion. I have your same problem or acne scars ... and about twenty days ago I made my first dermabrasion but I can tell you that the results have been very slight. Now, I hope that the scar tends to improve more and more (as well as surgeons say) but for now I have not been fulfilled, but rather disappointed.

Dermabrasion limits.
by: Rosy

Dermabrasion is a cosmetic medical procedure in which the surface of the epidermis of the skin (the stratum corneum) is removed by abrasion (sanding). In this way, the scars appear to be shallower and therefore less conspicuous. The intervention is limited by the fact that to prevent further scars, the operator must acnt on the surface layer of the skin. Therefore, the treatment is good only for shallow scars. Another limitation is the profuse bleeding that occurs with surgery.

The goal of these surgical maneuvers is to improve the appearance of the skin, will be impossible to obtain a completely smooth skin.
