MSM for acne scars
by Lisa
To improve my mild acne scars i use MSM lotion.
MSM is a form of sulfur used by your body to support growth and maintenance of the connective tissue in your body such as cartilage, ligaments, tendons and bones. It is found in many foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, milk, eggs, and lean meat.
MSM has shown to be helpful in treating skin disorders and effective against acne, Rosaceae and dry, scaly or itching skin skin disorders including acne, psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, scabies, diaper rash and certain fungal infections, scars resulting from operations and from burns also respond well to topical application. New scars can heal perfectly so that they are almost invisible. Old scars, too, can improve markedly.
MSM slows down and restores crosslinking in collagen. Crosslinking in collagen is a natural process in scar formation, causing hard and often painful scar tissues. MSM heals scar tissue which makes the skin more flexible.
Dramatic examples are known of people who have treated burn scars with a MSM ointment and have seen their scars almost disappear and have eliminated associated pains.
I massage the lotion into the scars twice a day and in a month the scars were a lot less noticeable.
As far as internally, I take around 1/2 teaspoon twice a day.
