Laser Scar Removal treatment and results

by T. Avery
(Terre Haute)

My name is T. Avery,
I have had 9 laser scar removal treatments at Dr. Francis C. Lee, 606 W. Pershing Rd. Decatur, IL 62526, Phone number 217-877-7171. I have been going to him since Dec. 2003. The procedure I get done is used by a carbon dioxide laser. Once you have your initial appointment and consultation with Dr. Lee, you will both decide if it is the best option for you. I have blogged before and have decided to share my story again.
The procedure itself is slightly painfull and the recovery can be lengthy but the results are worth it if you desire such. Typically you will get a nunmbing cream on your affected areas and then you will get local anesthetic shots for complete numbing then he will procede with the laser portion. It will not hurt because of shots but it will swell some after and the first 3 days of healing are gooey and you need to clean properly. After 10 days of applying ointment it takes anywhere from 4-10 weeks before it is completely helaed. I have been through this 9 times over 7 years.
My scars have been noticebly improved with 100% better in smaller ones to around 80-85% in others. I had the procedure done on both areas under my eyes to my beard line only.
I have very oily skin, so my skin type may heal slower because of constant moisture.
I strongly suggest you give there office a call or inquire your possiblities with them. The nursing staff as well as Dr. Lee are very professional and work with you closely and consistantly in all areas of the treatment from the begining to end.
