Inflamed papules are blockages of oil glands that have been inflamed.
Inflamed Papules? Papules result from a high break in the follicle wall, allowing cellular debris and bacteria to spill into the dermis. They are small solid rounded bumps rising from the skin that are each usually less than 1 centimeter in diameter (less than 3/8 inch across).Papules do not contain pus, which distinguishes them from pustules. Due to the lack of pus, papules should not be popped. Doing so may cause a serious skin irritation and aggravate pimple while not having any effect on papules themselves (they don't contain anything that could be popped). A papule often progresses to a pustule. Inflammatory acne is characterized red and inflamed papules;scarring of the skin can result from these breakouts. Click Here to see a picture!
