Hydroquinone for Hyperpigmentation

Hydroquinone for Hyperpigmentation?

Hydroquinone lightens the skin in two ways.
It inhibits the production of melanin (the pigment responsible for the darkening of skin and actual skin color) and it breaks down the existing excess melanin on the spots that require treatment.

Hydroquinone topical is used to lighten areas of darkened skin.

To increase the effectiveness of hydroquinone you should stay out of the sun, or wear protective clothing and use a SPF15+ sunscreen when outdoors. Do not use sunlamps or tanning salons.
Items that contain benzoyl peroxide or hydrogen peroxide should never be used when a patient is being treated with hydroquinone cream, as this can cause dark stains on the skin.

According to the FDA, approximately 65 companies sell over 200 different types of skin-lightening products containing hydroquinone in the U.S. Currently, products that contain up to 2 percent of hydroquinone may be sold in the U.S. without a prescription, and prescription skin-lightening products may contain up to 4 percent of hydroquinone.

If you are considering using the hydroquinone product on your skin, then I recommend you to opt for low concentrations of the product.

Apply the medication to clean, dry skin. Apply just enough medication to cover the affected area. Avoid applying to the unaffected surrounding skin. Rub in the medication gently and completely.

Avoid getting this medication in your mouth or eyes.

For home use I suggest DDF Fade Gel 4
