Hormonal acne treatment.
Hormonal acne?
There is a close association between the endocrine system and acne. The premenstrual acne of women is a clear evidenceof its connexion with the hormonal system. In women it is reasonable to suppose that androgenic hormones from the adrenals play animportant part in the genesis of acne. Estrogens have a profound effect on the activityof the sebaceous glands. Ebling (1948) showed that the sebaceous glands of rats were greatly reduced in size after estrogenic treatment. Because of this, some birth control pills, in small doses can be useful to reduce acne. My personal experience? I have had acne problems since the age of 11 and have spent literally thousands of dollars on skin care, make-up and dermatologist appointments. Finally an endocrinologist is been successful with Diane 35 an anti-androgenic drug, reducing the excessive secretion of sebum by the sebaceous glands. What is special about Diane-35? Diane-35® is a contraceptive pill and a very effective acne treatment. Essentially, Diane-35® works by regulating your hormones: estrogen and progestogen (reproductive hormones) and androgen (which can cause acne, by prompting excess oil production in your skin). Highly efficient acne treatment: 1. After 3 cycles (months): improvement/healing for 35 - 50% of patients 2. After 12 cycles (months): improvement/healing rate of acne for 90% of patients I suggest you to consider Diane 35 if you have severe acne or adult acne.Androgen disturbances should be suspected when female adolescents have severe acne or in case of adult acne, particularly in association with other androgen effects such as hirsutism, infertility and weight problems.
