Glycolic acid and papaya for scars

by Mary
(Canada)

I have been doing the 30% glycolic peels for close to a year now. I do one of these peels almost every 2 weeks. They help in the long run to soften scars, and I think that is why I have mostly shallow scars. I also use papaya from time to time and papaya also removes surface skin cells but does it in a different way than glycolic. Each has its own chemical interaction with the skin but the result is the same. The fruit papaya has natural healing enzymes. You can rub slices of papaya over your scar and let it dry, or some beauty supply stores are now selling moisturizers containing papaya juice.

BUT glycolic peels or papaya will not do much for deep scars.

Subcision or Needling are the ways to get rid of deep scars.
