Dermaroller and pain.

by Nadia
(Mialno)

Three weeks ago I had a dermaroller treatment in Milan.

In the past I have tried acids peels, with results sometimes good sometimes so-so.

1. Then, the doctor used the dermaroller with needles 1.5 mm long. It was extremely painful. I asked the doctor if he would use an anesthetic, perhaps a cream, and he replied that he had really tried everything, but there is nothing that works.

2. I was just a little red after the treatment.

3. Doctor suggested to combine dermaroller with an acid, Levulan.
Having done dermaroller the effect of acid was very heavy and I was locked in the house a week.
RED purplish pimples with pus all over my face, then brown. For 2 days I struggled to open his mouth.

4. Now after three weeks I have a skin a little pink, cool, but drier than before.

5. The first real effects are seen after 6 weeks, I am very curious.

6. I asked about dermaroller "at home" with the needles shorter than 1.5 mm. The doctor told me that this roller can improve the appearance of the skin because the creams come deeper, but it is absolutely ineffective in the stimulation of new collagen.

7.Since I felt much pain, I do not think that I will retry this treatment.

Dermaroller Results
by: Lucia

I have experienced the dermaroller.
It seemed that someone had beaten me! But fortunately You can wear makeup immediately after treatment.

The Doctor said the dermaroller is especially effective for ice pick scars.
My kin is still red and dry.
The Doctor also gave me a mask(Sirton) to be applied 3 days later after treatment, to activate collagen.

After 3 days the redness is gone.
This morning at the baleful light of the bathroom at my school I thought that the skin was a bit improved. ... boh ... I hope for the best!

Dermaroller treatment doesn't have to be like this
by: Roger (UK)

Hi: I felt bad for you when reading your comments as it doesn't need to be like this. The medical Dermaroller procedure using the medical device manufactured by Dermaroller Sarl, Germany and an effective topical anaesthetic can be a relatively comfortable procedure. I am speaking from personal experience. The accepted advise then is to not use any agressive skin treatments until the redness has subsided which often is ususally within 24-48 hours but often in the same day. To have a procedure without any anaesthesia will be very painful and to then follow with an aggressive skin treatment has given you a bad experience that could have been avoided. Also for acne scars it is usual to conduct a course of 3 treatments.

In the UK many medical aesthetic practitioners use LMX4 Cream an approved topical anaestheic that isn't yet available in Italy but will be shortly. This combined with Dermaroller Sarl, Dermaroller is providing great results. You can see information about this at www.genuinedermaroller.co.uk there are medical practioners and patients comments in the Testimonials section.
Good luck.
