Dermaplanning for scars

Bookmark and Share

Dermaplanning for scars is used to treat deep acne scars with a handheld instrument called a dermatome.

The dermatome resembles an electric razor and has an oscillating blade that moves back and forth to evenly "skim" off the surface layers of skin that surround the craters or other facial defects.
The skin immediately looks smoother and fresher.
By removing the damaged skin layer, the body may be stimulated to produce new collagen and refreshed skin cells.

Dermaplanning can be performed on small areas of the face, or on the entire face and body. It leaves the surface extremely smooth and can be varied to remove skin blemishes.

The procedure starts with gentle cleansing and degreasing.  A surgical blade gently moves back and forth to eliminate the statum corneum allowing quicker cell turnover .

If performed judiciously and by an experienced individual, dermaplaning should not have any effect on a darkly complected individual.

It is one of the best procedures for changing the appearance of the skin, in real time. For anyone that is seeking to improve their skin and does not necessarily wish to spend a fortune in doing so, I would highly recommend this procedure!
The result is healthy, smooth, fresh and radiant looking skin.
