1) Dermabrasion vs. microdermabrasion: what's the difference?

Dermabrasion is a surgical procedure most commonly performed by a physician.
This procedure involves removing the epidermis and part of the dermis, often with a medical grade power tool with a rotating head. It can be applied to many  areas, and is comparable to other cosmetic skin resurfacing methods.

Microdermabrasion is a skin care intervention that  exfoliates the skin using a sand blasting type technique. It is most commonly performed by an aesthetician. Microdermabrasion is a less invasive treatment with less dramatic result per treatment.


2) Can Dermabrasion improve deep Acne Scars?

Acne scarring is a difficult problem and any improvement that achieves a 30% correction is considered  successful. Generally  deep acne scars became much smaller, but not completely disappear.


3) What's the difference between dermabrasion and dermaplanning?

Dermabrasion is a  surgical treatment;the doctor uses an abrasive, electrical instrument to smooth out rough scars and other irregularities on the skin surface.

 Dermaplanning is a procedure which uses a hand-held instrument called a dermatome, which resembles an electric razor with an oscillating blade that moves back and forth to evenly skim off the surface layers of the skin.
