Dermabrasion for Acne Scars is a traditional skin clearing procedure in which the surface of the skin is removed by abrasion. 

 A high-speed rotary instrument with an abrasive wheel or brush removes the upper layers of the skin and improves irregularities in the skin surface.

Possible complications commonly associated with dermabrasion:

• fever blisters
  Dermabrasion can cause fever blisters to reappear in those who are prone to frequent Herpes infections. Anti-viral medications are often used to treat this symptom.

• pigmentation changes
