Carrots for Acne Scars

by Nelly

Carrots are a great source for beta-carotene, which converts into Vitamin A, the active ingredient in Retin-A.
Take 2-3 carrots and grate them after peeling. Boil the grated carrots in very little water till the water dries up. Cool and mash it.Mix just enough carrot with 1 tsp. of sea salt and massage the paste into areas affected by acne and acne scars. Use gentle, circular motions as to not damage the skin, and then leave the paste on the skin until it dries. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
You can also apply carrot oil;it has found to have properties that help in reducing scars, inflammation, and contains vitamins A, B, C, D and E, extremely beneficial to the skin. Carrot Oil is derived from the seeds of carrots. Carrot seed oil is obtained by steam distillation of the dried fruit or the seeds. It also involves solvent extraction of the red carrot or the root, and thus, contains good concentration of carotenes.Just a few drops gently applied to target areas of your skin is all that's needed to strengthen and enliven your skin cells, as well as to promote cellular balance and renewal of your skin cell tissue. Carrot seed oil has potent anti-oxidant properties and is thought to promote tone and elasticity to the skin cell tissue through its ability stimulate the formation of red blood cells. Only a very small amount is needed to produce excellent results.
