Basically acne is a disorder in your sebaceous apparatus. Sebum is produced by sebaceous glands that are attached to hair follicles. When you produce more sebum, you get oily skin.
If the sebum gets blocked in the glands, you get acne. Severity of acne increases with the increase of sebum secretion.
At this point your question is:
Can i block sebum?
Recent medical studies have shown that the cause of acne is a defect or deficiency in a person's metabolism of lipids (fats) which occurs due to a lack of coenzyme-A in the body.
Coenzyme A is also responsible for sex hormone synthesis. When there is a lack of coenzyme A, the body is forced to use the available coenzyme A for hormone synthesis because without it sex organs do not develop.
Consequently fats don't get broken down but they get deposited in your sebaceous (oil) glands and get secreted as sebum.
Because teenagers have the highest hormone production rate, they have the highest amounts of acne.
But if you supplement with enough pantothenic acid, you will create enough coenzyme-A in the body for sex hormone synthesis and fatty acid metabolism. So, large doses of pantothenic acid shuts down your oil production, reducing your acne.
B5 is second only to Accutane® in producing completely clear skin, including your back and body; but Accutane® is very expensive, requires a prescription and can have bad side effects.
Vitamin B5 requires no prescription and has no negative side effects. It's a water soluble vitamin;the excess amounts are flushed out of the body (in urine).
